Essex born Pharmacist launches Organic Soaps in Plantable Packaging www.greenorenaturals.com
Sow Tomorrow, is a new range of traditional hand-blended soaps packaged in recycled paper which is shot with seeds that may germinate when planted.
The idea was developed over three years by Mr Kevin Moseley (BPharm MRPharmS), who was born and raised in Hainault, Essex and attended Ilford County High School before moving to the West Country after training as a pharmacist. After researching the organic skincare market for his wife Sue who suffers from M.E., Kevin was dismayed at the heavy use of plastic packaging for organic and eco products in an industry that should know better. The Sow Tomorrow range of soap and luxury skincare is aimed at encouraging mindful use of packaging whilst utilising green and organic manufacturing principles.
Sow Tomorrow is a range of Organic Soaps hand-made in plantable packaging . The inner wrapper of the soap is designed to be planted following simple instructions on the outer sleeve. Sold in a triple pack tied with jute string, each pack supports a different charity.
There are many organic skincare products on the market but very few who really look at the impact of their packaging, citing cost and consumer budget as the reason, but this seems a little short-sighted. Green Ore’s handmade seed paper is sourced within the UK from a paper mill using traditional equipment, and is made from recycled waste paper.
The planet-friendly packaging principle has been applied to all products, ensuring the outside is as eco-friendly as the organic products inside. All liquid products are packaged in glassware that is carefully wrapped in an organic cotton face cloth before being sent out in a recycled cardboard tube. The hand-poured soy candles are nestled in organic potpourri before being packed in a hand-folded box. Instead of plastic, biodegradable cellophane is used, and even the jute string is purchased from an organic source.
Green Ore’s ingredients sourcing policy is always organic first. As far as possible we source agricultural ingredients from organically certified, reputable suppliers and fair trade products are used where possible. The unique perfume blends are developed in-house from high quality essential oils. Production is carried out by hand using renewable energy and bars of soap are hand-cut on a large mandolin cutter.
About Green Ore Ltd . Established in Bath in 2006, Green Ore’s aim is to offer skincare that is free from parabens and SLS, manufactured and packaged in an environmentally conscious way. The founders, Kevin Moseley and Suzanna Miles, place customer well-being and the environment as the company’s top priorities, and have combined their expertise in pharmacy with a passion for organic products to offer organic skincare with a green conscience. They have devoted over three years to the development of their products and are continuing to look at new ways to expand their offering and improve their eco-efficiency. www.greenorenaturals.com # # #
