Organic
Organic First. Where possible, we source organically certified raw ingredients for every product we manufacture. Where this is not possible we will select high quality, wild harvested, fairtrade and/or local ingredients instead. We will not use SLS or Parabens in our skincare and soaps and what's good for you is good for the planet.
Organic vs Local
We are ever mindful of our environment and the impact that shipping organically certified raw materials from a distance has over sourcing more locally produced non-organic ones. We came to the conclusion that organic growing is better for everybody, especally our climate, and that if we choose to purchase organically, it will encourage producers more locally to reconsider their farming methods. In our opinion the increase in organic products available in local supermarkets over the last decade bears this out.
We are open to reviewing our policies at all times but we think the answer to the shipping debate lies in cleaner transport.
Preservatives
Our handmade skincare products and soaps are SLS- and paraben-free. In addition we only use preservatives that are accepted in organic standards. To ensure that our products are as natural as we can make them, we use the absolute minimum preservative that would be effective. We are aware of a number of preservatives that are claiming to be totally natural but are unable to fully ascertain what they contain, and prefer not to use any product that does not fully disclose all its ingredients. We feel you have a right to know what you are using so we only use clearly described and labelled products.
