Planet Friendly Packaging
To maintain our planet friendly packaging policy, we endeavour to use recycled, biodegradable and recyclable packaging in all our products. We wrap our soap in recycled hand-made paper and package our creams & liquids in jars that we send in recycled paper postal tubes. We also use biodegradable cellophane bags and wrap, and use recycled paper or organic cotton carrier bags.We ship in recycled boxes and Jiffy bags. Rest assured, as far as possible, our packaging can go on the compost heap or in a recycling bin.
Isn't it great when you find a new range of organic skincare or food, you pick it up off the shelf and read the label with growing enthusiasm (well, we do) and then you realise that all these carefully grown ingredients are being encased in plastic! We wondered why this is, and as part of our product development, took a keen interest in what other people were doing.
We discovered the answer comes down to cost, pure and simple. It is so much cheaper to make plastic tubes, bottles and bags than glass or metal; cardboard & paper are really not very hard wearing. Plastic is also so much lighter and therefore cheaper to ship, usually from outside Europe.What is plastic made from? Well basically oil, which has a known affect on climate change and is becoming more costly.
Time to rethink.
So we prefer to use planet-friendly packaging.
